FACILITIES OFFICER

EduCom is a member �centric and services oriented organization. The successful candidate will be required to ensure the proper maintenance of all EduCom properties and branches. He/She will also respond to the need of the tenants and Branch Managers/Supervisors inclusive of assigning and dispatching technicians and workmen to various jobs in accordance with the scope of authority and responsibility in order that the Credit Union achieves its Mission, Vision and Major Targets.

Core Functions:
Under the direction of the Chief Financial Officer the successful candidate will be required to:
1.   Plan and organize the maintenance schedule for plant and equipment in all areas.
2.   Maintain in the buildings in conformance with the safety standards
3.   Conduct surveys on plant and equipment, analyze findings, prepare and submit reports
4.   Ensure that inspections mandatory by Government  regulatory agencies are performed within the stipulated timeframe
5.   Perform maintenance and repairs service for simple and routine matters

Required Qualification, Experience and Key Competencies:
The successful candidate should have:
         An undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, Facilities Management or its equivalent from an accredited tertiary institution.
         A minimum of five (5) years� related experience in facilities management/ management of building maintenance systems, at least two (2) of which should be at the supervisor/ junior management level in a medium or large organization.
         A Certificate in Building Management.
         Working knowledge of practices and procedures in Electrical Engineering
         Sound knowledge of maintenance contracts, inclusive of contract administration
         Working knowledge of occupational safety and health
         Working knowledge of Project Management
         Excellent leadership skills
         Excellent human relations and interpersonal skills.
         Excellent oral and written communication skills.
         Excellent analytical, critical thinking, problem solving and decision making skills
         High level of professionalism, integrity and confidentiality.
         Excellent negotiating skills
         Ability to pay attention to details
